From the beginning

So I generally find that the best place to start is from the beginning. My wife and I have been married for 5 years this january. We both work full time, have a house, 2 dogs. We have a little debt but managable. You know, the dream life(I only tell you all that incase you find yourself with similar circumstances, and are thinking of making the leap) We wanted to expand our ministry and after the brutal winter we had here in detroit get away for a while. We started looking into other states. Places with milder winters, but not crazy hot summers. We looked for places with unassigned territory first. I kinda always like the carolinas region. Then a family at our hall went to serve where the need is great in costa rica. They had so many great stories when they returned, and said how they couldnt wait to go back. The wonderful hospitality of the friends, the different cultures and ways of life,  a territory filled with people interested in the Bible. Their excitement made us want to experience those things too! So we were going to go serve for a month at the end of december, beginning of january. We could take that time off from our jobs and still come back to them, it was perfect!

a little about us

Hi, our names are William and Breanna Kolar. We started a blog in order to help friends stay informed on where we are, and what we are doing while we are away traveling and doing our preaching work. We also wanted to document our experiences, as well as the questions, concerns, and ideas as we prepare to travel to a foriegn country. We hope to be able to help others that are looking to expand by sharing our experience and also what gave us ideas and encouragment along the way. We are one month away from our preaching trip to Nicaragua. Looking back we wish we had started the blog sooner,  as we have already been planning for a few months. We will write a few posts to kinda help explain a little bit more about us and what questions we have had and how we have found solutions. Sorry for writing some of our experiences in past tense, but we hope it helps. Thanks for everyones encouragment.
